Surrogacy & adoption

Surrogacy

Surrogacy is an option being considered by increasing numbers of people, particular those who are unable to have their own biological children. Surrogacy is a complex area of law. Parentage rights may be transferred, however many conditions must be met before the Court will make an order.

Adoption

Adoption is a process that transfers the legal rights and responsibilities of a child’s birth parents to the adoptive parents. Once a child is adopted the adoptive parents have all the rights and responsibilities in relation to the child. Whether you are considering adopting a child from Australia, overseas or your own step-son or step-daughter you should seek legal advice.
